Ways to Empower your Samhain Amid the Pandemic

Oh no!  Covid-19 has put group rituals on hold, and what about the kids?  There are plenty of good options to have a very sacred Samhain (and celebrate the rare Samhain Blue Moon!), while keeping yourself – and others- safe.  Here are some of them, for both Rituals and Trick-or-Treating.

One More Chance to see a Bright Mars, until 2035! by Starstuff, Contemplating

Our universe provides many windows to show our place in our lives and the grand story of our family of all life on Earth.  The glowing red eye of Mars, staring brightly at us now, is one of these.  What do you think our world will look like in 2035, when Mars will do so again?

Samhain (The Fall Equitherm) Approaches!

Got your house decorated yet?  Samhain (the Fall Equitherm) is less than a month away!  For many of us (including me), this is one of the most sacred times of the year – a time when I feel my Ancestors even more closely than usual. Read More

Autumn 2020: Responsibility and Wonder; by Starstuff, Contemplating

Happy Fall Equinox!

Happy Fall Equinox, or Mabon!  Of course, our spherical planet also gives us the beautiful symmetry of the Spring Equinox (& Ostara) being celebrated now by our Southern Hemisphere friends.  The equinoctial moment, this year, is on September 22nd, at 5:31 pm EDT.

Fall is my favorite season – so much to savor, and still – the foreboding of the coming winter is a reminder to temper our enjoyment with responsibility.  This year, as is often the case, both the wonder of fall and the responsibility to our future world are part of my life.  I’ll post more about both of those soon.  2020 brings more responsibility than most years.  We face an election of monumental importance, made even more critical now with the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.  Natural wonder, too, is all around us, waiting to be easily found.

Celebrations

Some of the ways many of us are celebrating were published a few weeks ago.  In addition to those, the night sky is rapidly becoming more accessible now with the growing darkness.  This growing darkness can be a reminder that this is a great time of year for campfires, and of the celestial events like auroras*, or a time to look more inward.  In whatever way you are celebrating, Happy Equinox!

*While in some past years we were treated to stunning September auroras, year’s show was solid.  With the Equinox Cracks in our magnetic field still open, there is still a chance for another several weeks.
