The Threat to Science if Trump Wins, by Starstuff, Contemplating
The election is Tuesday, November 5th. It’s expected to be very close, which in itself is an indictment of our society. Please vote if you haven’t done so already! In addition to all the harm a second Trump term could cause to democracy itself (if it survives at all), the climate crisis, what’s left of women’s rights, racial equality, the living conditions of the 99%, and so many more – one topic isn’t talked about much, and it’s an area of serious threat.

Our Wheel of the Year gives us not just 8 Sabbats, but these Sabbats are in connected pairs, linked opposites. Samhain and Beltane are a linked pair of opposites – Life and Death – both in meaning and in the fact that each is celebrated along with the other, on opposite sides of our Earth.

Yes, John Astin – who played Gomez in the original Addams Family – is the only member of that cast who is alive. I’m grateful for what he’s given us, along with the rest of the cast and so many others.
This is one of the most sacred times of the year for me – a time when I feel my Ancestors even more closely than usual, as well as a time to remember those who have died this past year. This year, Samhain is even more significant than usual, with the added deaths of millions of people worldwide from the covid pandemic.
