Blasphemy! by Starstuff, Contemplating
Blasphemy laws are one of the most egregious and severe forms of religious privilege. It is the use of state-sponsored violence to attack someone for speaking in ways that religious leaders don’t like. Yet many countries, including the United States, still have blasphemy laws, and people are still killed for blasphemy. We may see yet another piece of blasphemy history in a few weeks.

Happy Fall Equinox, or Mabon! Of course, our spherical planet also gives us the beautiful symmetry of the Spring Equinox (& Ostara) being celebrated now by our Southern Hemisphere friends.
Celebrations
Some of the ways many of us are celebrating were published a few weeks ago. In addition to those, the night sky is rapidly becoming more accessible now with the growing darkness. This growing darkness can be a reminder that this is a great time of year for campfires, and of the celestial events like auroras*, or a time to look more inward. In whatever way you are celebrating, Happy Equinox!
*While last year we were treated to stunning September auroras, the latest chance (last week) fizzled, giving only minor (normal) auroras. With the Equinox Cracks in our magnetic field still open, there is still a chance for another several weeks.
