Happy Summer Solstice! In case you missed the Stonehenge Summer Solstice Sunrise simulcast, you may be able to catch the Stonehenge Summer Solstice *Sunset* simulcast! You can catch the Solstice Sunset livestream from Stonehenge, with coverage from 3:30 – 5:30 pm EDT *today*. (Also, it is Winter Solstice/Yule for those in the Southern Hemisphere). Any Summer Solstice is the peak of the Sun’s presence on Earth, and this year is also the peak of the 11 year solar activity cycle, spawning auroras like we saw a few weeks ago!
Welcome Summer! As we enter this time of greater activity and life, let’s take a moment to celebrate. Though we (nearly always) have work ahead of us – especially so this important election year – we need to feed the emotional parts of our minds, and Litha is an important part of that.
Join us for a LIVE gathering of Atheopagans (a type of Naturalistic Pagan) at the magnificent La Foret retreat center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA, August 30 – September 2 (Labor Day Weekend) 2024!
Presented by The Atheopagan Society, this 4-day, 3-night retreat will feature workshops, rituals and lots of socializing time in beautiful spaces and around the fire. The facility includes a magnificent meeting space, the Ponderosa Lodge; a fire circle; a beautiful labyrinth and more. I was there for the previous Atheopagan retreat in 2022 – what a treasured part of my life! I’m definitely coming back for this one!
As you read this, a blast wave of trillions of energetic particles is bearing down on us, with impact expected in just 10 to 30 hours (night of May 10 – May 12). The resulting auroras will fill the skies in many Northern areas with shimmering green, red and blue. If you’ve never seen auroras, this could be your chance! Ready for auroras? Read More
